The Library staff and volunteers have completed most of the necessary preparations for the implementation of a new library system on November 18. This is a very complicated process because we are sharing the system with 13 other libraries in south central Kansas. The South Central Kansas Library System is managing the process and providing a huge amount of support.
Staff from the South Central Kansas Library System have also been working with us to set up a new network. We hope to finish the last phases of that the Friday afternoon of Arkalalah when the Library will already be closed.
Amy Cook and Dalene McDonald will be attending three days of training on the new system in early November. The Library will be closed for staff inservice on November 17, and the staff will be learning to use the new system that day. We will re-open on November 18 with a new Library system.
There are things you will be able to do from the Internet that you cannot do now, one of which is put items on hold. We will be exploring new features and telling you about them as we get more familiar with the possibilities.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we have been working on this year-long project.
